The Evolution

Our Roots.

Mr. Gregory Christopher founded Christopher Investment Company (CIC) in 1975, in Michigan. The company was a developer, owner, and manager of manufactured housing, and at one point the largest individual owner of manufactured homes in Michigan. In 2004, Mr. Christopher exited the manufactured housing portfolio in Michigan, and shifted his business and operations to Austin, TX.

CIC’s first purchase in Texas was the Shops at the Galleria, a 538,000 square foot power center situated in Texas’ beautiful hill country. Following that purchase, CIC began acquiring other retail shopping centers and multifamily properties. As of today, CIC’s multifamily portfolio includes Avanti Hills, Austin City Lights, The Catherine, The Pearl, and The Troubadour.

CIC is also in the process of developing a residential project in a Joint Venture with the Related Co. in downtown Austin, on Lady Bird Lake. In addition to owning and operating almost 2,000 apartments in Austin, CIC also operates a property management company, a building services company, and a property brokerage company, based in Austin.
